Welcome new and returning families to Children Today Montessori school year 2024‐2025!

Note from CTM:

Dear Parents,
We had a great summer full of fun, educational, and exciting projects.  Children studied and learned about Colors and Careers.  Our new academic year 2024‐2025 is here, and we would like to welcome our returning and new parents joining us this academic year.  We are looking forward to having another year full of fun and excitement with a love of learning.

The highest compliment our parents can give is the referral of their friends and families.  Thank you for your trust.

Transitioning Students:

We will be introducing our transitioning students to their new classrooms.  This is a gradual process and can sometimes take up to a month to fully transition successfully.  This can be an emotional time for your child. Both your child and the staff will need your help and support to ensure a smooth transition.

Toddler

Dear Parents,
We hope you all have a wonderful summer.  This month, students will become familiar with the classroom, as well as our daily routine.  They will get to know the different areas of the classroom.  They will practice our procedures, such as cleaning after themselves, returning activities to where they belong, treating our classroom materials with care, and sitting quietly and patiently during circle time.  Care of self will be focused on, which includes washing hands, how to clean their face, and how to use a tissue.

As students get to know each other, they will be encouraged to practice their social skills and how to communicate with one another in a polite and respectful manner.  Since this is a mixed‐age class, older students will assist younger students and lead by example.  Please label ALL your child’s belongings.  We will use a sharpie to write the child’s name on their belongings without a label.  Also, please dress them in clothes that they can manage themselves (no belt and buttons) and in pull‐ups while they have an opportunity to use the potty.  We recommend wearing elastic waist pants.   Please also keep all toys at home.

Thank you,
Toddler Teachers

Dear Parents,
We are happy and excited to welcome our returning and new families to the academic year 2024‐2025!

We hope you all had a great summer!

We would like to kick start this year by focusing on grace and courtesy along with following the classroom rules, directions and routines.

Dive into the Ocean‐  Our theme for August will be all about oceans.  Children will learn about different oceans, life cycle and parts of ocean animals.

All about me project‐  Being the beginning of the school year and with many new children in our class, children will take this opportunity to share about themselves and to know about their friends.  Please make a project in an A4 sheet.  The project must include your child’s birthday, age, their favorites like color, animal, food, books, etc. and also what they want to be when they grow up.

Living and non living‐ We will also discuss the differences between living and non living things and do an activity.

Show and tell:
The importance of doing the show and tell is to encourage your child to talk about the theme based topics in the classroom on their assigned day every week.  hildren can bring an object/drawing/picture/book (that can fit inside their cubby) for the show and tell.  Parents are requested to prepare their child for this activity.

Please refer to the monthly newsletter for the show and tell topics for each week throughout the academic year.  To give fair and equal opportunity for all the children, they will be assigned a specific day for every week to do their show and tell.

The topics for show and tell:
August 5‐9
Talk about your favorite Ocean animal.

August 12‐16
Tell a joke to your friends

August 19‐23
All about me

August 26‐30
Living and non living things

Please send weather appropriate clothes for your child’s cubby.  Kindly refer to the office notes for other important dates and information.

For any further questions, feel free to reach out to us.

Thank you,
Ms.Janani (P1)
